The benefits can be far greater.  There is often a sense of satisfaction upon creating something, whether it's for practical purposes or merely ornamental, but the right hobby can go a long way toward exercising the mind, and give a sense of purpose to one's life. The purpose of this site is to encourage, provide ideas and information, and provide a venue to display the work that you have done.
